Galaxy, ever interested in this sort of thing, i just d/l'ed that.

How does it get installed? how is it then used? Could we have some pix please?

i am surprised to see that it's two dll files and an unknown app. I have to say i'm a bit loathe to click on it without more info.

Edit: i just noticed your join date! It's your first two posts! Good to take time to make sure your first post is a good one

sorry about the confuse
the application does not need to install, juz clicked the .exe file, then it will run.
The two .dll files are come from qt package. Qt is an interface api, i use it instead of windows api, coz I am not a windows programmer, beside I am a linux programmer, therefore, i have to use this api for cross-platform support.
I will upload some pic if require.

yes please on the pix! When you say it doesn't install, does this mean it's a stand alone program?

Host the pix using imageshack and use the link to image feature. Just paste the url into a post

OK Galaxy,

i gave it a whirl.

Personally i use another tool for aob-target course conversion, specifically the submarine attack course finder and the kriegsmarine equivalent

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ighlight=iswas

But, I have a couple of suggestions for improving the versatility of your tool.

It's not the case that everyone wants to only convert from target course to AOB. For many of us, it is more important to be able to convert from AOB to target course, so if possible could you make it so that it could solve either problem?

The same could be true of speed too.

E.g for given speed, how far in, say 9 hours 30 mins.

This could help plan long range intercepts

Other than that, id just like to say, great way to make your presence known galaxy Welcome

edit:

one last thing, you abbreviate Starboard as STRN, which is not a well-known abbreviation.

May i recommend Stbd?

Thx for advice, the aob to course problem can be done easily,
but the intercept problem will be time consuming. yup I will try.
Sorry about my english, I will make it to stbd!!

Ditto what Joe says. If you're running SH4 with Linux, you need to start a new thread right now and get into the details. I've tried and some people I consider experts have tried without any luck. Every time I don't have to boot Windows and can boot up my Ubuntu installation is a victory for me.

I know that every program I have that works both in Windows XP and Ubuntu (Firefox, Thunderbird, Inkscape, etc) runs approximately twice as fast in Ubuntu. I'd love to see that happen in SH4. You'd be a hero in my book!

See? I have successfully installed the program under WINE but can't get it to run.

to joe, I have an idea how to convert aob to course, the solution is even simpler than course to aob. However, for ideal intercept problem, I have a complex mathematical solution, but I am lookin for a better one, btw can you provide more detail of this problem. What I can think of is (not sure if it is what you want),
you have target's aob, bearing relied on aob, speed and the distance bettwen you and the target, then you input a desired aob, whereas the application will calculate a spped and heading the satisfied your requirement. Am i right??
