Hi all.
Recently I've had to reinstall SHIV several times, not because I've had problems but because I have been working with and learning the different file types in the game. I need a clean install from time to time. Well, in the process of reinstalling I've noticed that the lights in my 'CaptainsRoom' go out, after installing the uboat addon. Both the sun light shafts and the ceiling lights go out. Also, when I highlight the wall map, the exit door, or any of the other things that you can click on...they are dimmer than before. Is there an explaination or fix for this? Thank you for your time.

when uninstalling the game you must manually delete the main ubisoft or sh4 folder because it does not get uninstalled completely and will have leftover files still remaining there.
if you uninstalled the game while you had mods installed with jsgme then it is probably where your corruption is so remove your mods from jsgme, then delete the jsgme "MODS" folder then run jsgme forr it to create a new one and then put your mods back into it. this trick fixes most mod soup issues. its easier and faster to keep a complete backup copy of the entire unmodded "data" folder and when your game is corrupted you just have to replace it instead of uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game. |

is the captains room completely black? cause in that case it could be a texture problem. Else post a screenshot and I might be able to help you.

idle shot: ![]() mouse over map: ![]() I noticed the problem upon installation, before applying the mods. I ran v1.4 first, before the addon, to see if the lights worked, and they did. It was definitely after installing the addon. Its as if the lighting of the map is backwards too, when highlighted, but I could be mistaken. I realize too that there are some light shafts, but they are weaker than they should be. P.S. After looking at these screenshots here, I notice that the addon changes the wall texture, the paint is different. Thanx.

Ok...so I completely removed SHIV from my system. Then reinstalled SHv1.4, then I checked the office (CaptainsRoom) and the strong light shafts as well as the light bulbs were working:
Before installing the uboat addon (no mods - stock): ![]() After installing the addon (no mods - stock): ![]() SHv1.4 has good mouse over illumination. After installing the uboat addon the illumination effect is reversed and not as bright. Illuminated until you put your mouse over something, then it dims. I realise that this may be trivial to some. And as far as I can tell nothing else seems to be effected. But...I would like to have the light bulbs back on, as well as the mouse over effects fixed, and as bright as v1.4. I think the sunlight shafts are/were too strong and I myself wouldnt want those back. Could somebody please help me to fix this...if it is possible? Thank you all for your time.
