Default S-18 odd "bug" with radio.

All of the nice skins by ichso and runningdeer for the S-Class have had me driving mine alot the last few days and I have noticed that in my S-18 and only the S-18 I hear the radio underwater. If I switch to a different boat, US or German, it cuts out underwater as it should.

Does anyone know of a setting that can be edited on a sub-by-sub basis that would fix this? I love the radio mods but hate having to bring up the radio panel and turn it off for a bit of realism when submerging.

I've noticed that too. Maybe the S-boats have bigger and better antennas?

Reaching up from 150 ft depth ?
No, it's definitely a bug. I didn't notice that the radio gets turned off for anything > S-Class.
Since this one time where I was diving and couldn't turn my radio off under water and got really annoyed by it, I made it a habit of mine to always turn the radio off before I drop beneath the surface.

Can't help with the actual question, though

Well your imput at least tells me that it is not something I have done in my combination of Mods.

I have not tried every boat, but I am 100% certain that it keeps playing underwater in the S-18 and cuts off properly in the Porpoise and Salmon, as well as OM's VIIB and IIB. Those are the only ones I can say for certain, but if something works on 4 boats and not on the 5th I am sure enough of a problem not to need to try them all.

Hopefully someone with the knowhow to fix this will stumble upon the thread, or the thread will cause someone smarter then me to figure it out! lol

The radio usually cuts out at periscope depth. I for one have not noticed that it keeps working under that depth, then again, I dont leave the radio on too much

Yeah, that is the point. It cuts out at periscope depth on all subs but the S-18.. (probably the 48 as well, but I haven't tested.) give it a try.

I have noticed that the S boat doesn't turn off at periscope depth but it does turn off after you get past say 60ft.

I imagine it turns off on all boats around that depth but the sugar boat has a completley different periscope depth. (much more shallow)

Is it possible (EDIT: in real life ) to receive radio transmissions from under water, at shallow depths ?

Yes, depending on the frequency and what kind of antenna the sub has.

To add more to what Bill is saying, google extremely low frequency.
