I went all through the Cold War thread and tried every link I saw.. I could not find a working version of this boat. The only ones that stiull existed were from the Russian site and I kept having them corrupt, or if it would extract I got errors trying to start game etc.

Does anyone still have it by chance? If a current copy could be uploaded I would be very grateful.

Why don't you just buy Janes 688i Hunter\Killer ?

It's so cheap on ebay it's a giveaway.

I am finding it a nice break from reality to splash around in WW2 with the nukes after many careers of realism

So just got around to playing with it. Working fine for the most part. I edited the files necessary to change all of the Russian script to English in the Crew Management, Equipment and Damage screens (I can upload that for you if you like).

There is one "bug" or issue with it that I hope someone can help me sort out.. if I select tube 1 and open doors the upper door on the port side opens. When you fire the torp it comes from the unopened tube on the upper starboard..

Yeah I noticed the torpedo firing problem too. I've glanced at it but haven't given it any serious thought on how to fix it. To be honest I've been trying to figure out how to put a snorkel and ESM suite on it lol.

I may look into this more as it might be an easier task. I'll re upload it with the English translation too. I might talk to the original creator and see if they mind me making a few changes in general. Make it more like a real 688i with a couple of things.

That would be awesome, if you intend to ask for permissions maybe ask if you can add the ADCAP from the Skipjack mod
