I thought they said that we didn't have to worry about pigs, but now the pigs have to worry about man.

Quote:
OTTAWA (AP) — Pigs on a Canadian farm have been infected with the new swine flu virus — apparently by a farm worker back from Mexico — and are under quarantine, officials said Saturday. It is the first known case of pigs having the virus.

But officials quickly urged caution. Swine flu regularly causes outbreaks in pigs, and the pigs do not pose a food safety risk,

So now we should soon see the financial crisis taking centre stage in the media again

I've heard that HIV/AIDS was developed by US scientists to wipe out Africans.

Yes! I think the Bush's were behind this. Thank God for Rosie O' Donnell and her wisdom of the matter...

The theory that HIV/AIDS might be at least in part a US plan to attack blacks has neven been disproven. Look at US politics in Africa during the cold war and even before, it would fit right in line with the rest of their policies.

OTH....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDS_origin

The facts are that HIV is amazingly closely related to SIV - its Simbian (aka primate) varient. The base mutations between the two are minimal.

Considering that the earliest cases of immunodeficiency diseases that would today be looked at as possible AIDS cases date back to around 1917 in the Congonese region, the fact that SIV was known even then, and that simple blood contact could transmit the virus, the commonly accepted scientific thought of a hunter or butcher getting infected by either trying to trap or carve up an infected primate is reasonable.

Now - your "well it hasn't been DISPROVEN".... ok. Well guess what, lots of things haven't been "DISPROVEN". Like the world is flat. Pictures from outer space? Faked. Moon landing? Done in Hollywood. Kennedy isn't really dead because I personally didn't feel for a lack of pulse.

So - when a "claim" is thrown out that you have never heard before feeds some preconcieved notion you may have - research it. The facts that there is a reasonable, accepted answer out there - along with the facts that there would not be a reason for the US government to try and kill blacks (since HIV is documented way before the equal rights struggles), means you can be gullible and look for the bad guys everywhere that are out to get you, or accept that life is a little more rational.

And remember - its not a question of if your paranoid... its a question of are you paranoid ENOUGH?

The title of the thread is 'Swine Flu Update', so here is one:

The number of H1N1 cases worldwide now stands at 787, with two additional deaths reported in Mexico. As of today, Mexico has the largest number of confirmed cases with 506, followed by the United States at 160. 19 people in Mexico and a Mexican baby who travelled to the United States have died from the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 20.

Therefore, as some of us have been stating from very early on, the H1N1 virus is no more dangerous than the seasonal flu virus that has killed 16,000 people in the US so far this year, and which will have killed about 36,000 by the end of the year.

You're going to see confirmed cases, those who are not old and with pre existing chronic illnesses, recover from H1N1 with conventional flu treatment.
