Default 1st patrol as skipper of the SS-144

My first career with SHIV. Just a few questions. Began Dec 8, 1941 in Asiadic fleet:

I pulled out of Cavite in my old rusty S-18 boat and headed N to Formosa for a photo expedition. Next evening, got to the Lingayen gulf area and spotted two Jap battle groups heading south. One consisting of 4 Cruisers and 10 DDs and 4 Marus, the other with 2 Kongos, 4 Cruisers and 10 DDs and 6 Marus.

In both instances, escorts forced me under before I could get my old boat in position to attack..

My question is: In SH3, I remember getting a map contact of the task forces I encountered, and I assumed that a radio report went out to HQ warning of this momentus event.

Does SHIV by default send a contact report, or is there a way to do it manually??

thanks

Just pull up your captain log and click on the envelope. Depending on where you are and proximity of a possible friendly task force you might even get air support.

I was not aware of this feature. Is this modeled in stock SH4 or TMO/RFB?

I have the 1.5 on SH4. It came with the expansion pack.
