Default Need Help ! with Engine telegraph Bell Sound

Hello, Guys

I am new to your Site, and I have some questions for ducimus and Kaleun...I have been playing SH4 Uboat Missions for some time with all the the great mods, you guys and other modders spend thousands of hours making,I have spent hours collecting different mods trying to make the perfect sub simulator, with a little reprogramming my self My hat comes off, for you guys and other modders alike for making a good simulator better than anyone could have ever imagined, and hours, 100s of hours of ship sinking fun....... now to my questions, when I updated Trigger Maru from 162 to 170 beta, I noticed you changed the hud configuration with captain america's hud mod for TMO_163 in doing so, I found that this wiped out the engine telegraph bell ping sound, which I am so fondly attatched too I have gotten so use to it, now that its not there, it seems incomplete......it is the last thing I want to complete my perfect sub sim experience now the fun part, I reprogrammed the menu 1024_768 INI file for scaf 1.5 v410, high res hud dials and hud mod for TMO_163 to all work togethor without breaking anything, took about 8 hours of trial and error to get everything perfectly working the only thing missing is the engine telegraph bell sound when moving the throttle......Can you tell me exactly what files I need to make it work again and from what mods I>E sound files, confige files and any menu programming if required, trigger maru 162 had this option, but I cant figure out what files it uses to make it work .........seems like alot for a bell sound.........but sound on a sub is EVERYTHING

Here is a copy of my Mods.....some of these mods have been renamed/merged and reprogrammed/also placed in very specific order to work,you have to know exactly what your over writing and what effect it will have, if you understand that, THE POSSIBILITIES OUR LIMITLESS, in order make everything work in harmony....alot of work has gone into this.....but this is one of the greatest sub simulations ever..... and has been a real hoot to play

the bell sounds came from the poul-sound mod,
so maybe it's the silent hunter speech 2.54
overwriting something

Hmmmmmm

I will look into the poul sound file and start breaking it down, never would have thought the speech mod for voice activasion would have over written a sound file, may have over written a cammand file.....at least now I Know what mod the bell sound comes from.....Thanks for your help Won't be happy till its working again....keep the ideas coming

Hello, All

I just had to ask if there is anybody out there that will be updating NSM 4.0 Natural sinking Mechanics, this mod is a MUST HAVE for all SUB SIMMERS.....and unfortunateley there has been no update for some time, and with all the new updates and new mods out there, NSM is continually being broken to the point it does not work very well......or at all depending on how you set it up and what your willing to give up in the way of effects this mod alone breathed huge new life into silent hunter 4 and needs to be updated for uboat missions and up to date mods like trigger maru MY personal favorite..... along with Real fleet boat.....and others so I am pleaing for modders to step up and release a new NSM 5.0 or what ever you like to name it for all modders and users to be able to enjoy....all FANS and MODDERS here is your chance to speak up and plead with your talented modders out there to come up with a massive new NSM 5.0 with all the eye candy and goodies we look forward to......IF YOU WANT TO BE HEARD !! now is the time to post a reply and say YES we want NSM to MAKE a COMBACK !!

observer is redoing that mod to build it into RFB but i got no answer when i asked him if it would ba released as a stand alone mod as well. maybe he will answer if you ask him again?

Bring Back NSM---to All Modders NSM 5.0 Please !!!

Hello,

That is the same issue I had....we need a new stand alone for everybody, not just RFB, One that works with new features and the like for trigger maru...nobody has said anything, and yet it is one of the core mods that makes SH4 the most fun to play and it needs to be compatible with RSRD,SCAF, Operation MOSUN, I am really surprised no one has continued Warner sobe's work.... Never the less we all NEED an NSM 5.0 with all the trimmings, its way overdue !!!!

No, the mod is an entirely separate entity from NSM, and the two have nothing in common with each other, other than that they are both ship damage mods.

Ridiculous for you to import a list of the MOD:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Are you reluctant to put some type of MOD with the merger to become a MOD?

Found the problem with telegraph BELL, SOLVED

Hello,

Yes actually, posting my mod list was for the purpose of helping people identify what my project contained and help me with a problem that has been eluding me.... mainly the engine telegraph indicator bell sound which I have grown accustomed to....thanks to vickers03, he helped narrow the problem down to the poul sound mod and trigger muru beta 170, silent hunter speech 2.54 does not overwrite any sound files....and my problem started after installing trigger maru beta 170, strangley enough I found that trigger maru beta 170 overwrites the UPCData folder located in the main data folder for trigger maru 162, updating just to TMO 163 I still had the telegraph bell sound, then i tried the TMO 170 which includes TMO 163 update and the telegraph bell no longer worked.....AAHAAA !!!
looking at the old and new UPCdata Files they appear to be the same as TMO 162, although ducimus may have made internal file udates, I would have to ask what is different in those particular files......in relation to beta 170 update one thing is for sure, it took out the telegraph bell which adds immersion to the simulation.

but the bottom line is.....if you want the telegraph bell sound back, pull out the UPCdata file in TMO_beta 170 update then install to generic mod enabler...JSGME everything else will install and works fine..... I am still working on the individual files one by one in the UPCdata folder to find out exactley what file is causing the telegraph bell to stop working ....keep you posted

Super Ships #4 Ship reflect and Caustics environment 5.1

Hello, All

Kriller was wondering if I was making an add-on for real enviroment, the answer to that question is yes, not so much an add on as it is in flipping on switches and days of adding numbers totaling about 107 ships in all adding my own tweaks and adjustment to the caustic ship generator effects which were completley disabled in the environment mod 5.0......come to find out when real enviroment was released I tried it with #4 ship reflections from environment mod 5.0, and the result was staggering......so I decided to take it a step further.....the water has been so well done with sharpness and clearness with the sun reflections, there was one major componenet missing, THE SHIP CAUSTICS !.....the mod will be named #4 Ship Reflect and Caustics envionment mod 5.1 this will be an add-on for real enviroment.....I in no way take credit for kriller and W_Clears work, I would just like the recognition for the Amount of time and effort in reactivation of every individual ship including scaf,trigger maru,ops monsun,and original SH4 ships, It is a very complicated process !!!

pictures and more detail will be coming forth soon....This is a work in Progress, but will be well worth the wait


I also heard about file front,

this mod is very big, will be 0.98 Gig unpacked, I will need to zip so mod will be smaller to download, keep in mind every ship 107 at last count have been reconfigured and tweaked to allow the caustics generator to function again with the amazing new real environments mod....I will need to figure out how to upload and what the best new sight is to do that...

Kriller and W_Clear....

what new sight will you be hosting your files on?
