Man sure looks like a Death Trap to me.........I think the designer should be the first one to take her out.......in combat, lets see how brave he is.............

I guess with a gun that big you start with that and only use torpedoes to finish off crippled targets???

M2 was built with out the deck gun due to the London treaty which banned subs from carrying guns bigger than 8 inches.

The Surcouf would have been interesting to see in action in the pacific, if she hadn't been sunk on the way to America. Think what she could have done against the Japanese!

Nice, it is what u-boats needed, destroyers wouldn't know what hit them during dark. It's a destroyers killer. It would save the torpedoes since destroyers tend to zigzag all times. With that gun, no problem, they can zigzag all they like. Why didn't German built more u-boats with it? London's treaty shouldn't matter since they were at war.
