Battle for Mederet round 2
6/6/1944

Maj. Gen. Ridgway
Commander of the I/507th RCT/82nd Airborne division

After a short break, it was time to take complete control over the area.

Everywhere there was close combat, and in most cases it was going to turn into hand to hand combat.

Moving from the South to the North to meet the Germans.

The Germans where determed to hold the road to Amfreville, not gonna happen!

Rushing to the bushes to kick those Germans out of it.

Ow...crap *WOoooooshgggggg*

With one big push from all the squads together we managed to overrun the enemy, cleared the road and won total control over the area.

End results:

The Allies strike back at Amfreville
6/6/1944

Maj. Gen. Ridgway
Commander of the III/508th RCT/82nd Airborne Division

It was payback time, this time with the positions we captured in the previous encountermend we could take the advantage.

A light tank was killing our boys in the chateau, we had to take it out!

To the scrapyard with you!

They seemed to want to capture the Chateau back badly, dont see the harm in trying it

Their second piece of armor was send to the scrapyard.

The area around the chateau was a true killing field, for the Germans it was the end, Amfreville was ours.

End result:

Chef-Du Pont, Fallschirm who?
6/6/1944

Maj. Gen. Taylor
Commander of the III/502nd RCT/101st Airborne division

After having faced the Fallschirm for the first time and got our arses kicked it was time to kick their arse this time.

Those agressive tactics of theirs isn't going so well for them this time.

Desperate attempts made to enter the town, but they failed.

Young boys of the Fallschirm division was lying piled up in front of the .30 cal...what a waste of life.

6/6/1944

Maj. Gen. Taylor
Commander of the II/501st RCT/101st Airborne division

This second encounterment is going to be as fierce as our last one.

That darn bridge....

Holy crap, this garden is swarmed with Fallschirm troops.

Holding the farmhouses, so far so good we hold them in the garden while mortar fire was rained upon them.

They seemed to line up on the main road to assault the east it seemed...but our men where on the other side laying in ambush.

The Airforce dropped a message for Fallschirm at the bridge.

The Assault towards the east didnt had a chance

End result:

Maj. Gen. Ridgway
Commander of the I/507th RCT/82nd Airborne division

We just moved into the southeast of the city and then we heard, a counter attack from the North we had to take our positions fast!

They are on the offensive, we ha to establish a defensive line and not let them break through it.

We had a nice position near the Hotel of Amfreville, we shall defend it at all costs.

Meanwhile on the east the enemy fall right into an ambush

Extra support was sended to the Hotel area

Another skirmish been awaited for near the road to mederet.

The fight near the Hotel at its climax

Maj. Gen. Taylor
Commander of the II/501st RCT/101st Airborne division

3th effort of the Fallschirm to kick us out, ain't gonna happen!

Damn these guys, they are comming from everywhere.

Troops spotted in the Garden, they are going to have to face a nasty suprise

3 squads of brave soldiers defend the road to carentan

Taking out the MG42 at the bridge, the only way was to charge them head on and make the fight men to men with smoke as cover.

We lost the road to Carentan, but the 3 squadse made it out there alive. We now have complete control over the Northen area, the next move is to kick them out

End result:

Kicking them out of Mederet
7/6/1944

Maj. Gen. Taylor
Commander of the I/506th RCT/101st Airborn Division

We have those Germans surrounded, they have no where to go and my men are going to show from what we are made off.

Attack was made in the east, my boys running to the Machine gun to support it.

An attack was also made in the farmhouse area, they never had a chance.

they really paid a heavy price for that little skirmish

After those futile attacks the German morale dropped like a stone and we achieved total victory of the area

End Results:
