SECOND ERROR! (kernell.dll)
This is getting annoying, after i have successfully moded the game to "Fall of The Rising Sun" and played for the 4th time... but this time was different. After about a hour during my carrer patrol as usual the game minimized and gave an error involving a file called "kernell.dll".This is my second error that i got and i have idea what the heck is up with.

your game has been corrupted somehow, if you have a backup copy of sh4 data folder then delete it from your game file and copy a new data file into the game file, now delete all mods you have installed in jsgme since any or all of them may also be corrupted then replace your mods with fresh new copies.
if you dont have a backup data file then uninstall sh4 and delete all sh4 files including mods installed in jsgme which are also probably corrupted. delete the sh4 file in your "my documents" and reinstall the game, then redownload jsgme and all the mods you want or if you have them saved somewhere then just copy them into jsgme. |

Errors fixup plan
Quote:
Then i will get a fresh version of JSGME and put the Fall of the rising sun mod in the mods folder along with better leaks mod. Here is the question, is it gonna mater because the fall of the rising sun mod i have in ready in my sh4 mods folder in my docs or will i need to get a fresh copy from scratch to? then all i was thinking of modifing last is the creaks, gun muzzle flash, disel engine sounds in the sound folde just manualy editing them with wavepad. Now will that work and will i stop getting those 2 error messages? (keneric.dll and sound.act) |

that will be ok as long as it wasnt installed and then moved to my documents, the main thing is to trash any mod that was in jsgme because you have no way of knowing if it is corrupted. as long as you use a "pure" copy of the mod you are fine. i always "copy" my mods into jsgme so i never lose the "pure" backup copy in my documents. as a rule you should make a backup copy of the entire data folder after patching to 1.4 so if you ever find yourself corrupted again you can simply make a new copy rather than reinstalling the whole game. its also good if you ever want to mod something to have virgin copies of all files to back things up with. |

when you download mods keep them in zipped format and save them on disk so you only have to suffer the long download time once.
slow downloads sometimes get interupted so maybe it was incomplete for some reason and that is all thats wrong. i have a habit of downloading most if not all mods i see that interest me, weather i use them or not, so i can see how they were done and doing that has helped me understand how and why things work in the game. most mods fall into a few catagories like texture, text, or dat, sim, zon so learning how some changes effect the game in certain ways can give you mod ideas. |
