Default Patches question

Hi

Haven't played SH4 and have just installed it and tried it out. What are the best mods to install on the SH4 to get the best realism, best graphcis and sound?

Thanks
jason

There is no 'best'. There are a lot of choices. Both Real Fleet Boat and Trigger Maru Overhauled provide excellent compilations of mods plus modifications of their own. Available in the mod forum.

You need to upgrade your graphic card to play SH4+mods without problem.

I'm using Pacific Environment 5, and ROW Sound Effects 9.0. Great upgrades on video and especially the sound.

You video card should be fine. I'm running Windows 2000 Pro, with 2 gig RAM, and a nVidia 7200 256mb card (I wanted to go to 512, but that will require a MOBO change - maybe later.)

So you can update the sound effects without screwing with the visuals?

Yes, I think so. Sound Editor 9.0 here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IN68GMIR

Use the JSGME Modding Tool to install, works great!

Yeah, won't hurt your visuals.

A few weeks ago I tried for HOURS to get it installed properly on my Vista system. Going from memory, the first time I ran the program it was supposed to create some kind of config folders. I couldn't get it to do so in the same directory, and I didn't want to do a full reinstall.

Yeah, I'm kinda new at this modding stuff.

From the man himself, have a look as far as JSGME and Vista ( if you have already not done so ): Here

Thanks for the link. I found that awhile back as well, but each time I subsequently ran the software I came into the same problem.

Would LOVE to get this fixed, though ... so if you have any ideas I'm totally open to listening.

Contact Avgwarhawk, I am pretty sure he is running Vista\JSGME with no problems.
