OMG! I just installed the ROW mod package. The water and sky are awesome. But the sounds! Holy torpedo tubes, Batman! The sound of the sixteen inchers on the Jap battlewagons, and the hiss and creak inside when blowing ballast - WOW! Now I just have to wait for the family to leave the house so I can CRANK THE VOLUME and duck when the shells fly overhead! Kudos to the geniuses that can do this!

Yes, the modders here are fabulous. You might want to check out Pacific Enviroments (PE 4) and/or Enviroments 5.0 (EE5.0). They are both great mods.

Can I run Environments with ROW?

I may have to wait for tomorrow - I think I soiled myself when my deck gun started firing! I had the cam right next to it.....

PE 4 is basicly ROW updated. When the creator of ROW (Leo Vampire) died, Kriller took on the continuation of his work. You should just remove ROW and put in PE 4 if you want to try it. I'd suggest trying both mods to see what better suits your taste. Read the threads to research the install procedures and what each mod encompasses.

The modders for this game are absolutely fantastic. I venture to say there are no more dedicated group of people for any other game than the incredible talents we have doing this for us.

I'm still playing the stock version (1.5). Due to having Vista, I have a hard time modding in the program files folder, and I'm too lazy to reinstall.

Anyone have any pics of this to help motivate me?

You should have no problems with Vista, I don't. Use JSGME, you may need to run it as administrator.

Or disable the UAC (Users Account Controll or something like that). Then "running as administrator" is over. Google for UAC shutdown or look on youtube. I was really frustrated about me not being allowed to do anothing untill I shutted the UAC off. After that, it´s like XP. Really recomended...
