Default Question About TMO and Torpedo Depths

In TMO for 1.4 does the depth setting dial actually work? Does it control the depth at which torpedos run? And does the magnetic feature work or not? Thanks.

If you mean, just torpedo depths. yes it works, however, torpedo malfunctions where depth errors occur are very frequent in TMO. This is by design.

There are two types of depth errors that have a chance to occur. I dont recall the exact numbers, (with a mod as large as TM, remembering all the numbers by yourself is pretty hard ), however the general gist is this:

Depth error number 1:
Depth varience of 1 to 3 meters.

Depth error number 2:
somewhere around 9 to 12 meters.

Something like that. What this spells out, is most of the time if you shoot for a contact hit, you'll score a hit, with an occasional deep runner that will go well under the keel even if you set the torpedo depth to 5 feet.

Shooting a magnetic torpedo under the keel, i woudlnt even bother. Since the torpedo has to pass within 2 meters for the magnetic influence to work.

It's well documented that the Mark 14 was a POS torpedo until its problems were fixed. Thats why i made them this way. While i went whole hog on the depth errors, i could have made premature detionations and dud rates signficiantly higher then i did and still be in historical parameters of the torpedos failure rate.
