Random Facts

I've decided to make a post about all the little facts about the game and real navies. For example i found in a post that a polar bear attacked the parascope of the SSN 22 conneticut(seawolf class). Just a little place to gather up all the little interesting facts, shoot away:

HMMMM here we go with outr facts: (Real life)

Akula can dive to depths of 575 meters and will crush around 650 meters in real life (this is only recent to the older boats as age and fatigue sets in they reduce the max depth they can operate at newer boats are capible of 675 meters)

The Kilo can only dive to 330 meters and will crush at 420 meters

Akula's can make a top speed of over 33 knots, the kilo's top speed is just 21 knots which is can only maintain for just over one hour.

The kilos do not have the range the akula's do nor the under ice capibility or night vision periscope, nor a MIDAS system or towed array and the kilo's are older design then the akula's.

IN THE GAME:

Akula can dive to 580 meters Kilo 330 meters

Akula II has top speed of 35 knots Kilo 20 knots

Akula II has towed array Kilo Doesnt

Akula can detect the Kilo at ranges that exceede thier ability to detect us

We can sustain flank speed indefinatly

We can stay submerged for months on end

We can go under ice and have a MIDAS system fitted

We have a wider range of weapons including missiles rocket torpedos and also normal torpedos.

We are the 2nd quietest submarine in the game. (of the nukes)

So just some other stuff to chew on

I see a new conflict evolving between Kapitan and ASWnut101.

Both submarines have their strongpoints. You can't find a good Kilo driver unless they make a stupid move...granted, a kill of a submarine in this game is usually dependant on the "stupid move".
