Default I hate the weather...

I reinstalled, then added the GW mod. First patrol, U-51 from 2nd Flotilla based in Wilhelmshaven. Left port on 1 Sept 39.

Assigned patrol grid - AM23. Ok, so I plot a course around Scotland. Encounter a merchant east of Scotland & sink it.

Then the weather closes in. One of the worst storms I've ever seen in SH3. And it's been continuing like this for *days* - at least one week!

How do I make it stop? I remember reading that this was a "feature" of SH3.

Not that it's any help to you, but I once did a patrol in the Med no less, and had heavy rain, fog and wind for 5 weeks. I'm usually happy if it only lasts one week

My last patrol started out calm seas and clear skies. Than turned into a 9 day huricane.

HAHAHAHA!
I know right now all the elire realists out there are not replying because they'd be banned for what they want to say! You say North Atlantic to any seaman and aside from U-boats he says "bloody weather". I too hate the weather when it goes all out but it's also kinda fun for me. And attacking a convoy in light rain or fog is great.

In heavy fog I always travel submerged. Too often I rammed other ships which I (or rather Bernard) spotted to late or had very close calls.

Bad side is it takes a long time to make some way, good side is that you can detect ships with the hydrophones earlier than by spotting them on the surface => more contacts.

:hmm: The perfect convoy attack is in bad weather with 5ms wind and medium fog...and ofcourse let it rain.
