They make crewmen with fatigue recover faster.

Was it a crew compartment? I don't think they heal unless they're in a bunk.

The medic must be healing the wounded,

because I had one wounded (crew picture with a red line around it)
and I put him in the Crew Bow with the medic and after a long time his red line is gone and is able to do his job.

I never get wounded crew, I do however get a dead flack gunner about every patrol . Because I like to duke it out with spotted aircraft. Im sure everytime I hand out the flak gunner qualification they're like " gee, thanks"

He was. I did have a dead Crew once. Deck gun dead and watch officer wounded. Stupid me put DG rounds in a merchant in NYMG and didn't dive soon enougt...

Deck gun crew 2 dead, one injurned and the Watch officer injurned. The DG man died... but the Officer survived thanks to the Medic!

So they are useful.
I think...
