Default SH3 Commander *shakes fists*

Grr!! Last nite I delt with the loss of my deck gunner from a bar fight gone bad, but made up for it by sinking 16,000 tons of merchants that patrol. High off that success I headed back out today, after losing TWO more crew members to transfers. We enlisted a new petty officer and sailor and off we went!

Initially the boat seemed sound. We were able to follow our escort out of Lorient: periscopes checked out, Deck Gun and Flak Gun were operational, tubes all cycled well. Once in deeper water I ordered a crash dive test. We sank like flotsom!! At around 1 minute in I checked depth and we were at 20m... and 1kt. 1kt!? I ordered Ahead Flank, we couldn't sink this slow and expect to survive. Ahead flank! Repeated the engine room... but still 1kt. Ahead full I say, and up to 6kts we go. Ahead standard..ja! Ahead 1/3.. ja! Ahead slow.. ja! Flank didn't work at all. That troubled me. So we suface, thankfully the dive planes and compressed air worked. Diesels on, compartment crewed up.. ahead full... purring along at 14kts. FLANK! ...1kt.

At that point I decided to head to dock for repairs, I couldn't go without flank speed.

So curse you SH3 Commander and you're nifty random events! Curse you for making each and every patrol feel brand new and dangerous since I never know what'll happen.

I guess this little hiccup was good, since I'd just installed a new skin for my boat, but realized I had external cameras turned off! heh

Nice story kylania.
I had a smillar experince with SH3 Commander i was just leaving on my second patrol and when i hit deep water i ordered a crash dive to keep the crew on there toes. But we just sank like a stone right down to nearly 200m
Fortunatly blowing the balast worked and we shot to the surface like and never before.

I know the feeling every time I went to the bar my crew were killed in bar fights. I lost more crew in that blasted bar than to a destroyer. :rotfl:
