Default Petition against Pluto's degraded status.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/5282440.stm

In the name of the dwarfs, minors and all things little, I demand this imperialistic Earthian discrimination to stop! For diversity, for a democratic, pluralistic multiplanetarian Solar system! As a compensation for this abuse and in the name of equality, Pluto should be given ascendency in Astrology over all other inferior planets and zodiac signs. I recommend that we burn all the ancient Greek material and any other reactionary texts that deny this ascendency in the name of tolerance. Nobody should dare speak against Pluto ever again. And in the name of justice, I am hereby filing a discriminatory criminal complaint in Germany against Planet Earth.

Since i can't vote i will say i agree with the demotion of pluto as a planet.
Scientifically it made absolutely no sense to consider pluto a planet.
On a more romantic level pluto will always be the ninth planet of the solar system. :p

This whole anti-Pluto plot sounds like something Douglas Adams of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fame wrote it in one of his books doesn't it!

'In 2006 the International Astronomical Union came together after many months of debate. The outcome of this meeting was to alienate absolutely everyone on the planet Earth by fudging the planet definition. In the next meeting the IAU resolved to strip Earth of its planetary status on the grounds that it didn't fulfil the previous meeting's criteria. They then all voted themselves out of existence before disappearing up their own ......'!!

Goodbye Pluto. Thanks for all the fish...or the kettle of fish.

I've always thought that Pluto-as-planet was a hit-or-miss proposition. Not because of its weird orbit, though; just because it's so small.

My uncle Joe lives on pluto, he's outraged by the sheer arrogance with which this fine planet is degraded.

I even bought some property there for my retirement (heard is better than Florida), cost me a rib. Now it's worth Jack Sh*t.

Thanx *ssh*les!

you know that size 8 you been wearing ladies? It been redefined, it's now a 14.

I can't believe it for 70 odd years science has told me it's a planet. When did these qualifications and definitions for planets come about? Did they know this when they first called it a planet?

Not only that....but. We're not sure that you're a lady, anymore.

You've got two X's and a Y. We're debating the Y. Why do you have two X's?

That's what we're trying to decide. You've had two X's for the past 70 years. You may have a god damn Q and an L by the time we are done with the definition.

Stand by.

Stand by.
