Question what is the benifit of ....

I was hoping that one of the more expiranced players out there could tell me the what, if any, the in game benifits are of the type IX C/40 has over the type IX C.

I have advanced far enough in my career (have enough renown) to get a nes boat and was just wondering what the differances are betwen the two boats.

Thanks for your help in advance

request: make the subject line more clear.

Subject lines of "What if..." "I have a question..." tell nothing of what the question is; if the question is included, I can take a look at the subject line, and either delve deeper because it's something I know something about, or pass on it. If the question is short ebnough to post in the subject line, please, please, do so; it really helps the rest of us.

As to your question... the only real differences I see, is a slightly deeper max dive depth (~5m) but a shallower operational depth (~40m) (not too sure why the disparity there); and 400 miles of greater range.

I would not upgrade, especialy considering you get no "trade-in" value on the boat you give up (my bigest beef with the use of renown to purchase upgrades and better boats).
