Hi AG, I came accross a 'COT' & I figured ... smooth seas, small ship, I'd man the deck guns & sink it!
![]() ![]() Is there a fix & would the converted whaler have the same prob? Many thanks for your time & effort spent on these! ![]() Reece.

That might be because of the NYGM damage mod - intitially, this ship was designed with 2160 HPs to be compatible with this mod. I assume you are using the Beta (1.0). Download version 1.1 from my signature - there are two .zon files, one with 2160 and one with 200 or 250 (I don't remember). If you do have 1.1, you are probably using the NYGM .zon file (check the readme for more details).
Version 1.0 of the Whale Factory had only the low HPs, actually. Version 1.1 has both. ![]() |

Hi, I'm not using the NYGM mod, using HT147. The Tanker is the 1.0 beta, & converted whaler is 1.1, am downloading the COT 1.1 now!
![]() Thanks.

Der Teddy Bar designed the NYGM mod - here is a sticky describing it better than I can:
http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=50331 Basically though, it does two things: it makes ships sink cooler and it makes them impossible to sink with the deck gun. Check out the thread. And if you download NCOT 1.1, you will find both .zon files included. ![]() |

Thanks!
![]() Hmm, the cooler sinking sounds good, but if it's impossable to sink with deck gun, then it's unrealistic! a shame. ![]()

That said, the NYGM Ship Damage V2 Coastal Tanker is in my opinion really really nice now.... |

Ah Now that's good news Teddy Bear, as I have actually downloaded the NYGM Tonage Mod 1.03 & the 138meg Terrain mod but was tossing up wheter to give it a try as I use a combination of about 75 mods centered around HT147, I suppose I could roll back SH3 Commander then remove the mods (JGME installed).
![]() ![]() Thanks AG, I had downloaded the Tonage war but didn't make the connection with NYGM. ![]()

I beg to differ! :rotfl:
Well yes, I may have worded that wrong. You can sink them with the deck gun, but it will take a lot of shells. And of course, hitting below the waterline will sink the them, as would happen in real life. Is this correct now? ![]() ![]() |

I've sank plenty of wounded ships w/ the deck gun.
I've found that the deck gun is better used to quicken the flooding on wounded ships, rather than pumping another torp into them, put around 20 rounds along the waterline and it should flounder. ![]()
