What is a widget? A widget is an application engine provided by yahoo that runs on your desktop in the form of some type of tool either pulling data from the net, from apps, or from your hardware and having it display in a draggable GUI-type interface.
JBT308 and I edited a FS9 widget that now displays all the current posts on the subsim discussion forums. They look like this: ![]() You can set them to update from 1 minute to 10 minutes and choose to display how many posts you want displayed at a time. (choices are 5, 10, 15, and 20) Once you click on a post it will open your default browser to that specific post. So there is no need to surf the forums using a browser. You can let this run in back on desktop and it will keep you up to date on what is being posted on various subsim forums in realtime (within 1 minute as minimal interval). In order to use these widgets you will need to install the yahoo widget engine. Which is available here: http://widgets.yahoo.com/ Then you can download and use the widgets you prefer below. Version History (Current Version: 1.1): v.1.1 When you rollover topic with mouse it will scroll what the message reads (so you don't need to go via browser if you don't want. Removed channel name in post title so you can read title of topic better. v.1.0 Initial Release Downloads: SH3 Mod Browser http://rapidshare.de/files/36156367/...owser.rar.html SH3 General Discussion Browser http://rapidshare.de/files/36156465/...owser.rar.html Entire SubSim Discussion Forum Browser http://rapidshare.de/files/36156514/...owser.rar.html All 3 SubSim Forum Widgets: http://rapidshare.de/files/36156582/...dgets.rar.html Mirror: http://hosted.filefront.com/TikigodsMods/ Last edited by Tikigod; 10-10-06 at 01:09 AM. |

I'm currently working on making the text scroll properly. I've been able to remove most of the HTML code that resides in the scrolling. Probably have a newer version up later today or tomorrow.

We just updated this to 1.1 so if you have 1.0 be sure to delete it and use new version.
What has been added: -When you roll over title of post with mouse it will now scroll that message within the title window. So you don't need to click on it to open browser if you don't want. -Repetitious Titles of forum have been removed in topic window so you can read the post better. |

I was trying these out again but they're stuck at one set of 'new' items. Could it be that they still point to the old forums perhaps? And if so, would sit be very difficult to update them as I absolutely love to start using them.
Thanks in advance.
