Default Gun reloading times?

Started a new campaign beginning early when the merchants were unarmed and few aircraft posing a threat. Thought of saving eels by using deck gun. To my suprise the reloading time of the gun was something of a minute or so!! Is this really correct? Using RUB1.45 by the way.

No they are NOT correct, its just 1 mans impression of how to fix an issue about the DG. That being how its so accurate (stock) and he considered it to be the uber deck gun.

As the assembler of rub he has the right to impose that belief INTO rub. However you also have the right to adjust it to what you deem fit. To that end grab Timetravellers Tweak program and go at it.

Most is to install SH3 Commander 2.3 Lite who allows to regulate this parameter.

absolutly not correct there firing enclosed shells its not like a battleship where they have to load projectile then powder sacks

No...the minute long reload is far from correct...HOWEVER..as has been said many times already on this forum this was done to make up for the highly unrealistic deck gun to begin with.

To start..

1. The deck guns in SH3 are far to unrealisticly accurate compared to their real life counterparts...the Uboat made for a bad gun platform with all the rolling and pitching of the boat.

2. The deck gun barrels were not stabalized on the Uboats like a M1 Abrams tank barrel like they are in SH3.The pitch and roll of the boat plays no role in the game.

3. The shells in stock game do far to much damage and sink the ships far faster than it would in real life.

4. With the stock deck gun settings you would bring home 3x more tonnage in 1 patrol that was possible in the real Uboats.

The RUB mod is made for die hard realism fans...not for weekend warriors who just want to go out and sink as much tonnage in as short a time as they can in an arcade shoot em up fashion.

Certain changes had to be made to kill the uber qualities of the stock deck gun.They were made to keep the player from relying on his deck gun and from using it in an unrealistic manner.

With the settings now you have to worry that while you are firing at a merchant with a deck gun will a destroyer sneak up on you or will enemy aircraft come to the aid of the merchant you are attacking.Just as it was in real life.You can change the settings using SH3 Commander or the method posted above.

Yes I agree. The accuracy is of a Leopard II/A5. This should be something to think about for the SHIV?
