Default EMEA OR US DVD HOW DO I TELL ?

Guys, is there a way to tell if you have the EMEA or US DVD ?
I ask because when I first loaded the game I downloaded the US patch (1.1) there after it would only accept the patch's from the EMEA, I have no idea why, but after an upgrade I am having problems, crash's, I have the latest drivers, but was wondering if the problems could be attributable to a corrupt save of the 1.4 patch on a cd. Previously I upgraded the game as the patch's came out and saved them to cd, for future convience.

With my old system I had just 2 CTD's in 6 month's.

As I said before I have the latest drivers (installed 3 weeks ago), have checked the CPU temperature, turned down the sound acceleration to zero, and the other night had 3 crash's in a 15 minute period, my PC after the crash's came up with a blue screen indicating a problem with the driver's but I cannot see how that could be, I have a NVIDIA GEforce FX5700, my main driver is a nv4_disp.dll version 6.14.0010.8195 (english)

Any ideas ?
Thanks

Bill.

There are two "readme EMEA DE/EN" files and two "license EMEA DE/EN" files in my main SH3 dir, I assume that these files are not there in the US version.

That´s unlikely, you would see an error message if the archive is corrupt.

Which driver? If it´s the video driver try an older version. Here´s the link to the nVidia driver archive:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html

Also make sure that your system is free of spyware and viruses and close all unneeded background programs.

Hi Gizzmoe, one or 2 of the crash's also referred to a "kernel.dll, and another .dll that I am unable to think of at the moment, what does this mean ? I understand dll refers to Dynnaic Link Library, but what causes the conflict and how can it possiblt be resolved ?

First check your registry for errors, I have found SHIII related errors in mine in the past. If that doesn't fix it, uninstall your video driver, reboot into safe mode, run a driver cleaner, reboot and reinstall your video driver and see if that fixes it.

Bill, you should try an unmodded version, if it doesn´t crash you know that a mod causes the problem. If it still crashes update/downgrade the sound, video and chipset drivers. Also visit www.windowsupdate.com and install all updates.
