Default The SH3 Poetry Thread

This idea started after seeing the community talent we have here on another thread, where the prose were not receiving the rave attention they deserved.

So I've culled together here what was already posted there and hope that the rest of you will keep on contributing. Here we go!

I shot a torpedo
Into the sea.
A T5, you say?
It's after me!

In the periscope I stand and scratch my beard, shall I dive or act like a weird. Firing my torpedos at two fast destroyers, will not look good to my old employers. I'd better sneak away like a cat in the night, keep our fingers crossed and hold our butts tight. This will end this silly story, and this time neither bring us to any glory..

I would have,
my finest hour.
If only the watchman
would go to the
friggin tower.
Two weeks of fog
and only one case of grog
im sitting inside
and having a rum .

A day at the Brothel
Is good for the watchmans eyes.
And He shall see further, than an eagles eye.
In fog or rough seas the watchmans eyes are always please.
Yet down below lays the virgin son cursing the day he was born,
For he to wishes he had visited that place,
instead of being scorned.

Karl and Werner
Went up the ladder
To take over from Kurt and Johann.
Karl fell down and broke his crown
'Cause Johann shouted "aaaaaaaaaalllllaaaaaarrrrrrmmmm".

Here's a haiku for the careless ones who sail the shallow waters in the English channel:

DD closing fast
Alarm sounds,crash dive
Hit bottom again

I once sailed a U-boat from Brest
The Tommies were leaving their nest
I fired an eel
Their fate I did seal
It's my job, don't you know, I'm the best!

Hey, limericks are poetry too.

Kaleun Fleck
is on the deck
watching for hours at a speck
in this very long convoy trek
and he just finds out
he is not the lookout

Bravo for this thread!!

Kaleun John

Fritz on the hydophone
"screws approaching
dead ahead, slow."

Udo at the periscope
"enemy target sighted,
fat juicy tanker."

Carl at the nav map
"course plotted to
intercept and destroy."

Kurt setting the torps
"torpedoes set,
fire when ready, Kaleun."

But where is the Kaleun?
Nowhere to be found...
Kaluen on the john.

BE13

A sky of lead, low like the ceiling of a tomb,
To spew at moment's notice
Death on wings,
With towers white arising from the sea
Where presents fell, sent from the isle afar of Albion.
O how I long to turn this rusting shark
To sail where palm-trees beckon from afar,
Where easy prey walks gentle waves of blue
to feel upon its belly teeth of steel
ripping apart its entrails full of oil and war-mongering merchandise.
Alas! 'Tis not to be
And nineteen hours still at BE13.
