Default Rub 1.44 city colours on map

Paris had fallen by 1941 right? In my current campaign (RuB 1.44), it's april 14 1941 and Germany holds all the atlantic bases (Brest, Lorient, etc), and they are Blue, but Paris and a bunch of other french cities are still green. But I'm pretty sure i sunk a french ship and it got listed as an allied ship. Anyway, is this a bug or do I need to read my WW2 history again?

Possibly because its the Vichy France?

The one that amuses me is Arnheim; still red. Rebelious place, ideal spot for the Paras when they land.

Quite a few of the cities are wrong. It was decided that the Ops mod should be added to RUb as-is, and as-is was unfinished. Some of the stuff (ship ID book stuff) has been finished, but other stuff (like the towns) is still in the process of finishing.

If players can list incorrect towns I'll find it a lot easier to fix them, so if you see any, please list them here.

Zoom into the Port of Gibraltar; there are two dots that are labelled Gibraltar.

It could be HT, but it also could be Ops

Okay, I figured out the France problem. It was listed as neutral when it was under German occupation. This was a mistake in the standard game (made apparent when the Ops mod added various French cities) and has now been fixed for the next RUb.

Also, the Arnhem problem has been found and fixed. Netherlands is referred to in the game as 'Netherland'. Unfortunately it looks like whoever adjusted the Netherland listing when the Ops mod was being made changed it to 'Netherlands' so it didn't register for some cities. Why this affected some cities but not others is anyone's guess. Anyway, this is fixed.

On the Gibraltar issue, this has been known for a while, but no one has fixed it. I'll have a go right now.

Found the Gibraltar issue. Looks like this one stemmed from the Ops mod. Someone misspelled Gibraltar, looked for 'GibraltEr' and figured it didn't exist, and bunged another town in called Gibralter, LOL.

Anyway, not a big deal. Found and fixed for RUb 1.45.

There are also some 'GibraltEr' airbases. I hope they're not mirrors of GibraltAr airbases.

I'd thought that "Gibralter" was supposed to be the German spelling, and that one dot was the base, and the other The Rock Of.

I dunno. But when I hear the guys in Das Boot say 'Gibraltar', they pronounce it with a definite 'A" at the end. The Germans are much more precise about pronunciation so I suspect it's spelled Gibraltar in German as well.

Paris was occupied by germans troops in June 40, not in 41. A little point of real history, you can trust me, i'm french.

Hehe, we know.

"Paris had fallen by 1941" doesn't mean "Paris fell in 1941".

I can confirm this: Gibraltar is spelled with 'a' in German (I'm from Germany in case you have doubts . )
