Default Anyway to extract music from a DAT file?

I was wondering if there is a program that can extract the music files contained within a DAT file. I have Rome: Total War and would like to extract music contained in the DAT and put it on disc. Is it possible?

Sorry, I really can't help with it as I have no clue what can actually be done with a .dat file myself, but the developers of RTW have the soundtrack for sale I believe. I think there was an adevertisement for it in the game. But they are making a Spartan : Total Warrior (or something similar to that) where you get to control a single warrior, do missions, buy armor etc.... sounds promising, the graphics looked good, they used the RTW character set for the new game.

I haven´t tried it myself, but "IDX extractor" seems to be what you are looking for:
