hi,
i have been trying the torpedo training for several times. I've been able to sunk 3-4 ships and always miss out the last one. They are fleeing at different direction. I try at different sequence. Even fire only one torpedo n disable it, then quickly move to next target b4 they flee. But still i would end of either one disappear from the map. And i spending few days patrolling tat whole area but couldnt find the ship. Now i understand how difficult to find a ship in a wide open ocean... Sound bit dumb question.. but would they flee to North America?? argh... even a small AO initall start location would b impossible for me to search How should i look for a target? i was once chasing a target, he keep turning around, spinning, n i am chasing like mad behind, suddenly he disappear from map, n i turn around for other, and all have run away long time ago!!! i am not turning off god view. Realism setting is 0. but still i cant graduate from academy ... ![]() |

how near should i approach a ship b4 a ship is visible in the map? and how near b4 a radio contact is reported? and the bearing reported in a radio contact is relative to my own sub? e.g. Reported sound contact at 012 moving slow .... mean i should head 012 on my compass in F5 screen? i move ahead flank in this direction but still cant find it.
Thanks in advance |

The type VIIB that ur in has a Stern Tube, Fire that 1 first at the ship directly to ur stern. Set it to 0.5m UNDER the keel. This will sink it or at the least slow it down 0Knts. Next aim at the C2 to ur front going left to right, with a 2 torp spread set at a 2° Spread. Also set for 0.5m under the keel, this SHOULD sink it. Next engaged the small merchant to ur front thats stationary. Aim at the bow with 1 torpedo again set at 0.5m under the keel. Again this should sink it. Now turn the boat towards the small tanker to ur LEFT. As the boat turns ur STERN Tube should now be reloaded, Aim it at the small merchant thats NOW behind u (it was the 1 to ur right at the begining). Again set torp to 0.5m under the keel, Fire. By now u should have Tube 1 reloaded in the bow PLUS Tube 4, Aim at the Tanker as above and fire.
IF u have now any ships at rest (0Knts) reload and sink. End of mission. |

You can submerge and use your hydrophones to find ships that are beyond visual range. Although, in the case of the tutorial, the ships have a very short path to follow, after which they vanish. If you spend more than an hour of game time, likely they all disappeared.

You've probably played the rest in training/practise mode (can't remember what's it called). You've to complete them in 'Exam' mode to pass. If you actually have done that and there really is no confirmation about it, I'd suggest reinstalling- sounds like it wouldn't be a good idea to proceed to Career until this is sorted out.
