Default White factory smoke and misplaced dial on bridge :(

have a look, please:

is it my setup? (possible) Do you have that white smoke at night too? Looks strange to me...

this one is the bridge of a type VII sub. Whats wrong here?
I did make a test with a vanilla install, it´s there too.
I didn´t noticed that one so far as i´m no type VII skipper. But next career (im still in 1940, so no hurry) i´d like to play the entire war with type 7 subs.
I don´t use external camera, so i´m on the bridge very often.
for me that would be a major immersion killer.

Can there something be done to solve that issue with the dial?
Did you have that white smoke too? it doesn´t hurt my eyes that hard, but a fix would be great.

You have a Nvidia 5200 card, correct? That card has the issue with the white smoke. You have to aim the camera at the sun, and then tab+ alt, and re-enter the game. Its the only workaround.

Looking at your posted pics, I see this too; the mini compass-dial (on the bridge console) shifts out of position a bit. The last 2 VII skins showed the same problem, although the gauge is lined-up properly during the first days of a patrol.

I'll watch more closely next patrol, to see if anything might cause the problem (being hit by a cannon??)

Also see white smoke from factory smokestacks, other times it's black smoke.

hehe, good one about the new pope, fenian :P

@Soviet Warlord no X800XL here. I guess the smoke looks like i posted with all drivers from 5.1 to 5.8 (current). But ´ll try that nvidia workaround...But the smoke in general is ok (ships) and it would be hard to look into the sun. The screenie was taken at nighttime

So does anyone have the smoke black at nighttime? I´d like to see a screenshot.

I´ll do some more testing today with a fresh OS install (i wrecked mine yesterday)

I had believed the smoke was normaly that colour on the harbors !

Anyway, not a real issue to be honest.

There's nothing wrong with the smoke - its a design decision I believe.

Anyway Ailantd's particle mod changes that.
