Default Know of a good .tga 32 bit graphic program?

Can anybody recommend a program (hopefully inexpensive or free) that will read or convert images to .tga 32 bit format? It appears that my Microsoft Photodraw V2 will not do this, due to not saving alpha channels (to my knowledge....still searching).

Thanks,

-Jeff

I've had The Gimp for a while. I'm having a terrible time trying to sucessfully skin something. I wanted to try my hand at the tugboat. How do you skin something with The Gimp?

Thanks for the replies!

I looked far and wide, and I was able to find what appears to be a pretty good program called Saint Paint Studio. Here's what is cool about it:

Quote:
Images in Saint Paint are device independent (DIBs). When you edit your image, all the information about the palette, and the colours used will be saved internally and retained. Other paint software utilities are well known to alter palettes and images internally especially when saving, which can lead to no end of headaches.
So, I could actually see the alpha channel layer, and when I save, the program tells which features are attached with the file with a handy chart...cool!

I've got it on a 60 day trial, and it's something like $30 US.....I was able to use it for my BB Sao Paulo mod.....

I use Jasc Software Paint Shop Pro. You can download a 30 day trial. The programm has a lot of useful tools and is very easy to understand.

The Gimp is a great program, easy, and free. It have some little bugs but you can work with any format. What problem do you have? There are good tutorials.

Cheers,

Well, how do you paint over the skin while keeping the textures? I thought using the paintbrush with the grain merge would work, but it doesn't work now. It did what it was supposed to before. I guess the reults we mixed at best with it. If I wanted to paint the tugboat hull black, it would darken it, but if I chose the white color and wanted to make a line it would just lighten the black somewhat. I've been trying to do the tugboat to try and get a feel for skinning and how to use The Gimp. So far, neither seems to be working.

How do you change things like get rid of rust, modify it, or create more?
