No aircraft spooted almost one year...

Hi All,

During Jan. of 1940 during one of my patrols I was harassed constantly by thje RAF. I was just west of Scapa Flow after finding nothing in the harbour when 6-8 Spitfires jumped me and heavily damaging my boat.

Since then, it is know November 26th, I haven't been attacked or even seen a plane once... :hmm:

Am I just incredibly lucky or is something up with the game?

My watch crew has become very trigger happy starts to shoot seagulls once we are close to land. I keep telling them to wait a few more years...

Don't wish for them. You will get annoyed with them later in the war.

Heh... Since I just got SH3 not to long ago, I am playing SH3 "vanilla"

Actually, I was going to make another post about which mods to use/install, and whether its worth it to install 1.4. Actually the main reason why I haven't installed is that I'm having a great time with my current patrol and don't want to restart...

Well this spitties are Hurricanes (or is there a Supermarine Spitfire Mod I donÂ´t know about ?)

Be happy that you are not beeing bugged by those bees, youÂ´ll say good morning to them regularely some 12 or 15 months later... enjoy the time without them!

Just return to port and before your next patrol, patch up to 1.4 or add mods. Don't do it mid patrol, like if you saved during patrol.

Speaking of planes, I've never seen british biplanes in the actual game, only in training. Do they spawn only in the Med? I'll have to check the museum..

Well when your done with your run use...1.4 patch and "Real world3.0" "harbor traffic".....anything by "Beery"and many other great Mod guys. and SH3 will take on a whole new level!

Gents:

After installing Jungman's mods on visual range and snorkel size and detection ...

I am using XXI in June of 43 ... "what if" game...
traveling with snorkel at either 5 or 6 knots... up to 512 tc
Depth depending on sea state at 14 or 15 meters....
Both scopes up so ai can monitor.....
I have placed men in control room with watchman status....

results... most times ac will be spotted from 2km to 4.5 km dep on size of ac..... I can not tell if they have picked me up on radar ... Last night ai picked up two sweeps of ac... one flight of spits and the other 2x biplanes and... a third .... looked like Dauntless bombers? None of them appeared to have spotted me and ai picked them up within 2 km as close as 1.4 km.... I would dive to 50 meters... and wait....

If this is an indication what Jung, CCIP , Ortega... and others have in store for this sim... it will remain on my hd for a long time.... hell...
I have a new COUGAR HOTAS setup for Falcon4: Allied Forces now for 2 weeks..... and just can not stop SHIII :<)
