I see it as a specific manifestation of German neuroticism. Because the desire to "get back to nature" is not so much a laid-back and natural drive for Germans that simply is allowed because it is indeed natural and simply exists anyway, but with germans it is additionally theoretically constructed, it it is being followed for "ideological" reason therefore. Like so often, the Germans picked it up and made an "effort" of it. Spontaneity by intention. Naturalness by artificial construction. Contradictions in themselves. Personally I can live with the sight of fat, ugly old naked bodies. From a certain age and physical condition on, it is a question of politeness to not force others to unconditionally take note of how one looks naked, may it be natural or not: even "naturalness" can be unaesthetic. Even cruel. ![]() However, foreign press tends to exaggerate its depiction of FDKK in Germany. It is not as widespread as one sometimes could think if reading this or that piece over the years. The Nazis originally were against it and tried to fight against it, but later turned it into part of their again ideologically perverted "Körperkult". Quite some parts of modern Germany's healthy eating cults also can be traced back to those spirits. Its not so much the written rule and demand that has been transported from back then into the present, but the attitude of thinking of verbieten and obeying being a natural thing in the first. Personally I prefer to not get attacked by sights I do not want and do not need to see at all. Often it is the most unfit who think they must pose the most self-exposing or "sexy" (as they think of it). I indeed sometimes htoguht of such occaisons as beign attacked, and maybe even sometimes reacted accordingly. Part of culture is rule son the do'S and dont's by which said culture defines what diferentiates its members form non-members. Violate against these rules too often or too extenbsively, and the rest of the pack may start to bite you. And no, living in a cultural context does NOT mean: "anything goes". Who tries that, is seen as a provocateur. If he exaggerates it, he may end up very unlucky. Cyanid also is a natural stuff. But that does not mean I need to take it in my coffee to demonstrate how natural I am.
