Whatever you can make a bigger cube by adding more cubes. The question was not how many needed to make the smallest cube

The question implies adding blocks to "complete" a full cube, not have a full cube, and so implying that the cube desired is incomplete at the start. The answer remains 45 and Aktungbby gets to see your nuts.
