Really need to properly identify your target. Saw a Big Fat 'Merchant.' Turned away and put 2 torpedoes into her from my ass-end. Turned out to be a Hospital Ship. I now use external camera to zoom in on the flag to positively identify the ship.

Don't cheat with Free Camera ;-) Next time, come closer. For real WWII attacks even 1000 meters sometimes appeared to be too far. You should see the flag.
And if you encountered hospital ship, big red crosses should have warned you.

It should have its lights on also-pretty clear to see at night and day.

Boy are you going to get yelled at when you return to base.

Wear warm clothes at your new posting on the Russian front.
