Still getting the drm message and the game is unplayable.(Valid Steam copy)

Got this game a week ago and I was loving it until one day my pc shut down because of a power outage. Booted up my pc and started the game and loaded the save and got the message that tells me my internet connection is down and click ok to return to the main menu. Rendering my saves and my game useless. I have tried turning steam and uplay to offline mode, deleting my saves, uninstalling and reinstalling and the same thing happens. I can exit out of the popup by pressing alt+F4 and somehow that works and I can play the game but because ubisoft implemented an anti pirate feature into the game I cannot get the tonnage bars filled up. I tried everything and I am about to give up on this game but that feeling I got when I played it for those first days still leaves me with an itch so I dont want to give up that easy. I desperately need some help. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A CRACK! I just want a way to fix this while being legitimate.

Highly Recommended SH5 > The Wolves Of Steel Mega Mod > Includes > Optional KSDCommander And Working Enigma M4 Machine > Sub Flags > Not Compatible With STEAM

This is a known problem, uninstall the Game Launcher and re-install again.
This option allows you to install it anywhere.

I would also suggest that you use the SH5 Steam conversion as you need TDW's Generic File Patcher, an essential application that is not compatible with Steam.
