Default Full Screen Mode ?

Gents,

Win10 just updated itself and now I can't get back to 1600x900 full screen back .. only 1024 x 768 windowed (the game will run, and audio plays, but the screen is blank)

I'm running Win10 with Nvidia GTX 960 and have never had a problem running anything in 1600 x 900 full screen. Drivers, directx up to date and have reinstalled the game. Executing as Admin

In game changes do not stick (??) so Ive also tried just manually editing the game folder data/cfg/main.cfg file as well as the documents/main.cfg file to no avail.

What am I missing ? .. and this makes little sense.

Thank you kindly in advance ...

Well, where do you have Silent Hunter installed? It almost sounds like you're in C:\ Program Files (x86) \ Ubisoft \ ... ?? The recent round of "updates" from MS were in response to WannaCry, or whatever they called that ransomware thingie. Now IE11 doesn't like certain pages, and Win10 especially has locked the cookie jar tighter than ever against user intrusion... If you have a Steam install, you'll have to manage your install through your log-in there on the web, but most other versions of the game, all you have to do is copy the Ubisoft folder with Silent Hunter in it, and "paste" it somewhere else, like directly into the C:\ drive. NOT the Silent Hunter folder, the Ubisoft folder with the Silent Hunter in it... If that's not the problem, I dunno... Have you tried "Run as administrator"? "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"? Both of those are gotten to by right-clicking on the SH4.exe file in the Silent Hunter directory, the clicking on Properties on that context menu, then on the Compatibility tab...

Solved the problem and just wanted to get back to you and all ... (was running as Admin and in a non-protected directory .. non steam version).

The only thing that changed was Win10 updating to the Creators Ver 10.0.15063, and that was the problem.

Neither SH4 or SH5 runs on Win10 Creator 10.0.15063 ... you have to run it in Win8 compat mode

Going to post in case it can help others ...
