Looks like I have sailed my last patrol in SH4, after 10 glorious years.
I have just installed a GeForce GTZ 1060 6GB and a 28 inch monitor. SH4 refused to even open, all my other games work perfectly. I reinstalled it, and, under compatibility settings test program, the intro runs and - thats it! BANG! I am going into SH5 forum now to see if I can run a US sub ? ![]()

Have you set the resolution of SH4 to that of the native resolution of your monitor?

I put the monitor in before this card, running on an AMD RX 380, and SH4 ran fine, no hitches but a rare crash now and then.
Now its on the Geforce card, it wont run. My spec is a quad core i7 intel with 16GB ram and Win 10. the following games run fine: The 3 x X3 games Far Cry 2 Unreal 2 Sid Meier's Pirates! Dark Star 1 Many puzzle game (about 50 odd) Age of Empires HD 2 Talos Principle Banished Deponia so why not SH4 ??

Did you match the monitor's "Native" resolution to Windows, and that to Silent Hunter? In other words, my old-timie NEC has a "native" resolution of 1280x1024. That is what I have my Windows resolution set to in the video card's controller. Once in the Silent Hunter 4 menu, I choose Options, and then the graphics settings, I set the game to 1280x1024 75Hz and it runs fine... You'll have to find the "Native" resolution of your monitor first. All that means is how many pixels it actually has to draw a picture with.
