Icon9 Ahnenerbe WideGui & Font Size

Hello all,

So, I took a break from the game and have been returning to it recently. I decided to do a little more digging into a solution to run the game at 1920x1080. I came across Ahnenerbe's WideGui for 1920x1080, and aside from disliking a few of the GUI changes I really enjoy it.

My main problem is I don't sit three inches from my monitor and have trouble reading A LOT of the text. Everything is waaay too small.

I know re-scaling the GUI is impossible without a massive effort, but I was wondering if font size/types are stored somewhere and could perhaps be edited to be larger. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, and good hunting.

Hi PETC
The LSH3-2015 mega mod default resolution is 1920 x 1080.
Ahnenerbe's Wide Screen Mod can be added as an option to the other GUI mods supplied.
All the information is in my tutorials.
Incidentally, I am waiting for a cataract operation, end of January, and currently use reading glasses on a 28" monitor 40cm away.
Occasionally I have to get the magnifying glass out.

Hey there. I'll give it a shot.

Trying to download the 1-large file now but the download speed is really slow. I've got a 100 MBPS connection which is testing at 105 down/30 up and I'm being capped at around 350 KB/s which will almost certainly take me over the server's 60 minute download limit.

Edit: Found a way around it. It seems there's a server-wide 350 kb/s download limit on any file. However, that's not a per-IP bandwidth limit, so downloading all 9 parts simultaneously at 350 kb/s each gives me an equivalent download speed of 3 MB/s which is much more do-able.

Well. Tried it. Followed all the instructions. Game ran, but would crash every time I tried to load a new career's first patrol.

Ran all of the stated applications as administrator and ran them in WinXP compatibility mode, ran the game from SH3Commander, and I tried to run Naval Academy first as stated. Still crashed every time.

Windows 7 64-Bit
Intel i5 6600K (stock clock)
GTX 950
16 GB RAM
SSD, plenty of free space.

Maybe I'll try again some other day, but for now I've run out of ideas.

Hi PETC
That is unfortunate.
I am running Windows 10 in compatibility mode OS7 with over 70 saved games and no crashes.
Did you check the byte sizes of the files you downloaded to make sure there were no downloading corruptions to the files?
The game is extremely stable.

I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure all the files are fine. Not sure what's going on there.
