Default Battle Report - Convoy Battle

Yesterday, we played one of my scenario "HX-84 Ambush". This was modified version, where Russia force, were increased by adding air support and changing Victor I to Victor II.

The briefing was:

TIME OF WOLFPACKS HAS RETURNED. CONVOY HX-84 IS HEADING TO LIVERPOOL. WARSAW PACT NAVY HAS PREPARED AN AMBUSH. NOBODY KNOWS HOW MANY SUBMARINES WILL ATACK. US NAVY HAS BEEN ASKED FOR SUPPORT IN THE DEFENCE.

Players:

Me and Pepe against strong Wolfpack.

Our beginning position were placed north to the convoy.

I decided to speed up and take position ahead of convoy. I went deep and increase speed to 25kts. We agreed with Pepe a tactic for the battle. Generally, if he find enemy sub, I will quickly jump to shallow water, launch Subrocks and run away.

So it happened. First Victor was found, so I attacked with 3 missiles.

Successfully. Depth charge destroyed Revan's Victor.

Pepe attacked second sub (AI) and damaged her. Unfortunatelly Air Support appeared. Tu-22 Backfire attacked our force and destroyed Pepe's frigate. In the meantime I launched at AI's sub 2 missiles and torpedo. it was enough to finish her.

Our convoy also had casualties. DDG type 21 was sunk, and at least one freighter.

Finaly Tu-22 was shot down.

I was looking for next targets. And I found a Victor and Alfa.

I launched a torpedo. It locked at the target and ... hit a whale . I need to be more patient. I attacked the Alfa with subrock, but nothing happen. She was so far away and a track was not so accurate. I focused on closer target - Victor. I launched two subrocks and passive torpedo. And this with positive results. Again depth charges damaged the sub and torpedo sunk her.

After that, all of us decided to finish the scenario. It is hard to say which side won the battle. Some of cargo ships and escort ship were sunk. On the other side 3 Victors were destroyed. I assume that it was a draw.

To summarize. It was very interesting game to me. Good cooperation with Pepe gave us 2 sunk subs. I was surprised that none of Victors or Alfa, did not attack me with Starfish. I was speeding and cavitating quite frequently. Also when launching subrocks I revealed my position to the opposite side. But luckily for me, nobody shoot at me with this lethal weapon.

In the end, I want to thank of all you for very nice game and see you soon my friends.

Participation in MP game is much better than reading reports.
