Space 2001 was on last night with HAL - hadn't realized how much Alien owed to it. Explosive bolts, the same music (Aram Khachaturian - Gayane: Adagio) and so on and a number of other references. Although I hope you've seen Dark Star. Now there's a film that could do with digital restoration, not to mention audio.

Pinback. Truly marvellous, particularly the self-destruction of their entire toilet-roll supply. It came across as exactly the right 'feel' for a just-a-job technical station. Reminds me of being on St. Kilda in the '80s. Just as grubby.
