Default 1939 and the HMS Hood is heading straight for me. helP!

December 28th 1939, a task force is reported and I try to put myself near where they are going. They are moving fast. I find contact in AM 39, and it turns out it is the HMS Hood and 4 escorts! But it's heading straight for me! I'm too slow to get out of the way now. So I am setting up to attack at close range, very else I can do.

The problem is, I only have regular torpedos, and. I'm notsure where to set them. I see the hood has anti torpedo budge, is this impliment in grey wolf mod to do anything?

Where should I set my torpedo depth ? (Not magnetic torpedos)

I've never seen this ship before, but I intend to sink it and then probably die hahaha it's too bad silent hunter 3 can't simulate alternate history :p

Can I get some tips?

Set your eels 1 meter above the depth level your game's ship register shows for that vessels draft; In SH II in the Norwegian Narvik campaign its ten meters; I do not recall precisely what setting for SHV. The real HMS Hood had a drought of 32 ft 0 in (9.8 m) so an 8 meters setting in any case should get it done!

The silent hunter 3 ship book states 11.1 m draft (which is what I'm playing) but im afraid, if the torpedos hit the bulge will it just not do anything

Fire away! It will put a bulge in the bulge-full four eel spread. But if it's "coming straight at U", a head-on throat- 2-shot will obviate a bulge consideration (remember to dive quickly after firing) Regain peri-depth after it passes and finish a slowed cripple with remaining two and stern eels.

Ok fired and all hit right below the bulge! No explosions or fires or anythingm but it has stopped moving, that's a good sign right? :p
