Silent Hunter 5 Multiplayer Modding

Hello guys,

a buddy of mine and me had a small "lan party" and we started playing silent hunter 5, at some point i had a few ideas of improve the multiplayer/coop part.
If i want to change something on the submarins or on the crew (like names and other stuff). Which files should i edit and sent to my buddy, because like silent hunter 4, if i want to change something on the submarin, i have to sent him for example the .upc and the .sim file.

i hope you get what i want and give me some info about this.

Do you mean modding the multiplayer files? I don't think you can...never tried.
I suppose to find the names you'd look in the 'multiplayer' folder and then 'sub' and then 'names', but I haven't had a look inside the SH5 directory, so I don't exactly know. You probably should take my comment with a grain of rice, though

something like that, simply like a multiplayer mod, so, me and my friends can play the settings we changed together in the coop missions.

Do you graphics settings, controls, etc? Most of the settings you can change should stay the same (graphics, etc)
What are you trying to mod, exactly?

for example the promotion points (for coop missions, since you cant gain more points there) i would like to give more points or remove them complete.

I don't think that's possible. You could go into the Multiplayer files and search for a file with the promotion points earned and then edit them, but I don't think that's the best idea.
