Default Vulcan XH558 V Force Tour

Spent a few hours at Sunderland Air Museum with some of The Quality Street Gang (Concorde, Boris and his brother Doug) to see Vulcan XH588 perform a flypast as part of the V-Force Tour.

Despite dark clouds, the sun done all it could to aid those taking photographs but unfortunately air traffic control denied XH558 permission to fly directly over the static Vulcan for what would have been a fantastic photo opportunity.

On the plus side, XH558 made more than one scheduled pass.

It’s the end of the era because it’s the last time a Vulcan and Cold War bomber will be flying during the two-day route covering the 17 places where the remaining V-force aircraft reside.

Not so sure: an Avro chief test pilot rolled one at Farnborough in 1955.

Not really a biggie but a mate knows both pilots.
