Hello, I have a couple of problems. 1.) I have a 27" monitor. When I load the game only half the screen is filled. I have tried to adjust the resolution to fill the monitor. No luck. Any suggestions? 2.) When I try to download JSGME. it goes into my Documents, Then when i open the file it tells me to slow down I am trying to download too fast. What am I doing wrong?

I'm assuming you have a desktop computer (with a 27 inch monitor). Before we begin:
What's your SH4 game version? What's the spec's of your computer system? I have a 32 inch Wide Screen TV I can push the game through, with a slight loss of top and bottom screen using 1920x1080 resolution in-game. AND.....Welcome to SubSim Cap., Popeye!!

LOL, Technical questions. Yes it is a desktop. I not sure what the actual specs of the comp. I've had it about 1.5 years. It's a upper Best Buy gaming comp. I have SH4 Wolves of the Pacific Gold.

The reason I asked about the computer specs....if you have more than 3 gigs of RAM memory, you can increase the games capabilities with an added app called Large Address Aware. But, we can do that later. Does your monitor have its Native Resolution set to 1920x1080? Meaning, does Windows run at that resolution?

If I remember right I only have 2 gigs of RAM memory, not real sure. I went back into settings and found I didn't go high enough on resolution. Readjusted now only have just a little black around the edges. Had a gray moment on that.

Good.
Remember, even when you set the resolution within the Graphic Options in-game, the change won't take effect until you quit the game, then restart. I don't know why JSGME is being "saved" in your Documents folder instead of the Downloads folder....must be how you've set up the computer. You need to have a file compression app like WinZip, or WinRAR to open the compressed JSGME file (and any mods you may download). When you open JSGME, make sure you install its components into your Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific game folder (wherever you placed it). Which brings up another thing. If you have Windows7 or 8, DO NOT have the game installed in the C:/Programs x86 folder. The game should go into another folder (anything you wish to call it) other than the default Programs x86 folder. Your future mods won't load with Windows7 or 8 if you don't.

For the computer clueless, lower left corner of the desktop, click the START button to bring up the menu. Bottom of that is a RUN button, click that. In the little window that appears type DXDIAG and hit the enter key. That brings up an entire diagnostics utility that shows all your system specs.

Easily checked, right click anywhere on the taskbar (the line where the (start) button starts and the clock ends) in the small popup window click on "start task manager" In the new window open the "performance tab" (up top) once there look at what it say's below next to Total (like in the screenshot). ![]() |
