Introducing plastic eating edible mushrooms

It seem they discovered a species of mushrooms in the Amazon that is able to digest polyurethane. And they're edible.

So mushrooms eat plastic, we eat mushrooms, now we only need to close the circle by making plastic out of poop

But still, too good to be true ??
Plastic has the same components as sugar or fat, so it's plausable that the mushrooms completely re-arange the C H and O in the plastic. If it only ingests it, then they really haven't done anything.

How long before it's weaponized I wonder?

Given the fact that alot of stuff is plastic nowdays?
It would be a great way to disable crap by dropping spores if the rate of consumption was increased!
Give mushroom cloud a whole new meaning.

AFAIK there are plants in the amazon.. that when you crush the leaves into juice, and apply this to concrete/rock/stone... the stone literally turns to rubber.

Read 'Earths Hidden Treasures' or 'Unwanted treasures' .. I'll look for the doccy- quite interesting
