Hi! I have noticed that there is a 5-10 degrees lagging of hydrophone in comparison with the periscope bearing. E.g. If the periscope locks a target at 000, the sonar operator announces bearing 355 or 005. I have not noted any rule that defines the difference, but the truth is that there is a difference! Does anyone know anything about it?
I have a WAC 4.1 with MAGUI install.

That is correct.
With the Pariscope you target the middle of the ship but the Hydrophone is targeting the populsion System that is at the rear of the ship. And the direction of the difference depends on the direction the ship is travelling. |

No, the deflection is too large and the hydro bearing points to the open sea!

the issue you are describing is not happening at my installation. the hydro officer is reporting the ship at the periscope bearing. ps: i guess you allready know this but ,just in case, some hydro types are 'deaf' at front bearings +-10°
