Default Winter 2014-15

I think it is time for another winter thread, rather than resurrecting last years' thread.
It is snowing here and has been for the last day or so. The temperature is hovering right around 32F with no wind. Really a pleasant night. The night before last it got down to 20F.

I keep meaning to post in the 'What Are You Doing Now' thead, but also keep forgetting.

Last week it was getting up to 70/21. Overnight it dropped. Right now it is 19/-7. No snow, though.

In North Virginia, we have been dipping close to freezing. Unfortunately, we have has some wind and that always makes it seem a lot colder.

The Mutts at the dog park were eager to get back in the warm car after a while.

So far, no snow, but I think we are getting freezing rain on Monday.

Yuk! You can keep the freezing rain! I prefer snow over that other stuff!

Thanks for the update from the frozen north.
We're getting temps in the 40's/ 20's and had a trace of snow the other night. Enough to turn the grass white.

Moscow temperatures are around 0 degrees centigrade, so not all that bad.

Our "Winter" has all but vanished. Today's high is expected to be 56/13 with a low of 40/4. Last night it was raining in Park City, our major ski center.

Looking out our front window at 11:30 this morning after the sun came out. Plow has made a single track up the street but you couldn't get to it.

I'd just forward/reverse the car until I'd reach the road.
Works every time and my drive way is about the same length

East of the country has a snow fall warning, the biggest snowfall in the last 100 years
I'm in the west though so we should only receive half of that.

That's a Corolla, not a jeep. No need as guy comes round with a big John Deere and blower and cleans it out. I supervise from window.

It didn't get quite as nippy as was forecast last night. -26F or -36C but there is a wind chill factor, I'm not going outside to check that out.
