RFB and Steam Compatability

I am getting CTD's when trying to run SH4 (steam downloaded version) with RFB.

A repeated error pops up: "There is a new (not implemented page) or something like that.

Any suggestions?

I can confirm RFB works with Steam versions of SH4. Usually this sort of error is related to not having version 1.5. Also you could try the Large Address Aware fix if not already using it.

If you have version 1.5 I don't know what the error may be. But as always, start a new career after installing a 'megamod'.

I noticed in your sig you are using RFB 1.52? Not sure then what is correct, I only have experience with 2.0.

Oh, no...sorry. I was trying to use 2.0. Haven't played this in donkey's years and forgot to updated the siggy.

I have only encountered this sort of error when not using SH4 version 1.5.

FWIW, I was playing Operation Monsun. I was mid-career and began to get this. I had not deleted anything or installed anything since beginning the career. Re-starting SH4 and suddenly I had the old stock SH4 splash and loading screens. I had lost version 1.5 somehow. I know it makes no sense, but there ya go.

So what I did was remove all mods through JSGME and have Steam check the files in both SH4 and the UBoat addons and it found like 700 files between the two that needed to be replaced. Steam replaced those automatically essentially restoring me to stock 1.5

I then re-installed the mods with JSGME and it was fine.

No idea if you might have a similar situation, but worth a try if nothing else seems to work. But RFB 2.0 and Steam versions are definitely compatible.
