Do the escorts carry hedgehogs? If they do, when do they start carrying them?

![]() ![]() Do you ever read the threads? ![]() People have posted hundreds of screenshots of hedgehogs being fired. As to when they appear, I've never played past the end of 1940, so all I can say for certain is that the aren't there at that point. ![]()

Yes they carry them. Latter part of 1942 is my guess, since that is when they started using them in WW2.

Late 42 to Early 43 seems to be when they start getting them.

To be clear though, the term hedgehog was regarding the launcher, not the charge thrown. It was in the dispersal pattern that made them so dangerous. Several smaller charges in a wide forward arc gave the U-boat few places to 'dash' to, because lets face it, even at 7 knots you aren't running that fast. He sends down 24, 2-5lbs bombs covering your every escape route. And they don't make as much noise, so no asdic or sonor contact is lost. A bad day for the u-boat crew caught in a hedgehog attack, my most feared anti u-boat weapon.
