New Rig Launcher fails

I just got my new Rig set up and running. Windows 7 pro. Issue being. When I type in my password for Silent Hunter, I get a message telling me the Uplay Launcher (you know, that stupid POS we DON'T use but must have working to launch Silent Hunter 5) has failed and windows is searching for a solution (which never happens).

Any idea what could be the issue here.

I have searched for "launcher failing" but found nothing.

Solved. Got it to run by opening in compatibility mode.
