Default New U.S. Stealth Jet Can’t Hide From Russian Radar

If the man is right, then

Just imagine how many chocolade bars could have been bought with the money sunk in this project.

The only thing this boondoogle has accomplished is that it has somewhat masked the arrival of it's successor technology. Drones and UAVs will out perform, out last and have beat the F35 to operational status. One reason we are still pushing manned fighters is that pilots run the air corps, pilots like to fly and pilots like to be heroes. Imaging yourself sitting in a bar in Omaha talking to a pimple faced computer geek kid in a uniform telling you about the hairiest missions he "flew" from his console.

Same thing in space exploration. Manned space missions get all the attention and most of the money. But's it's the satellites , probes and rovers doing all the work.

Not too mention that it's probably harder to get a manned aircraft to target their own countrymen up close and personal compared to a geek at a console.

It's also nice that at the end the author mentions the risk of having all armed forces basing on just one or two genuine platform design. I would always vote for having a greater diversity in altenrttive platforms in service, so that if one gets compromised by an enemy, not all forces are automatically effected. That starts with sophisticated electronics and carrier platforms, and ends on even a low level like infantry firearms.

On the F35 I always thought that for what it can do it simply is hopelessly, HOPELESSLY, overpriced. Same is true for the F22. Even if technological superiority were given, it can compensate numerical inferiority only to a certain degree, and not beyond. An d a single loss of such an expensive hightech toy scores more hurting than two or three losses of a platform in a fleet where there are more units available.

But probably the whole defence industry in the US is a profit and job generating measurement anyway. The dominant weapons of the coming next major war, are cyberweapons.

And that war has gone hot already.

If the man is right… lol
Also… there is no lack of diversity so far.
Besides that .. all the knowledge base built upon f 35 will most likely come handy in the future.

If true then the blame will be on the Pentagon who laid down the build requirements.

Yes. Can be purchased by Australia.

For the arms industries that is great news as they can now beg for more money for long term research to find out why it is a flop.

The gravy train.

I do hope that this information is given to the Danish Minister of Defence
'cause if this is true, it's a huge.(forgot the word)for F-35

Could be false alarm, but I don't know.

1. Cost a lot of money
2. Bring in businesses to specific congressional districts
3. Help congresscritters get re-elected
4. Feed the hungry maw of the MIC

From a congressional standpoint, a success story.

It's only money.

It's amazing isn't it? All that money wasted to make a plane's radar cross section the size of a wee little bird, when all you need is a radar homing missile to knock out the radar.

The real problem with the F35 is the reason it was designed and built the way it is appears to have been forgotten.
